I swear I subscribed. Anyway - Russians in Volgograd were the same with the water (not a surprise I'm sure), everything that you described, and I'd love to see your filtered bottle sometime!... I had a small thing that I used sometimes, but it wasn't convenient. I wish I knew how to roll r's, too - I can get to a point where I can do it for a second. My only recommendation is practicing the movement to make the sound and that should help, even if it's only a little and takes some time. I'm so happy to hear that you're enjoying learning the language - I'm so curious to know how similar it is to Russian, which I find to be a gorgeous language, even though many don't.
